Every 8 seconds, another American turns 65. As our country gets older, we're going to need to create more home care jobs in the next decade than any other. But they’re among the lowest paid jobs in the country. They pay so little that they relegate workers — especially women workers — to living in poverty, fueling inequality.
The people who take care of our loved ones should be able to take care of their own families. But today, home care workers are paid so little that half are forced to rely on public assistance, like food stamps, just to make ends meet and provide for their families.
