Reverse the 7% cut to IHSS

I have read and agree with the privacy policy.

Hundreds of thousands of Californians have had their home care hours reduced this year, due to a seven percent across-the-board cut to service hours for residents in the state's In-Home Services and Supports program.

But a budget cut doesn't mean that California's seniors and people with disabilities magically need less care. It leaves home care workers with the impossible choice of working for free or denying their clients the quality care they need and deserve.

IHSS clients and workers are speaking out against these cuts and calling on the state to restore the amount of care to previous levels. Add your voice to their call by signing the petition today.

When you sign, we'll add your name to the petition below and deliver it to Governor Brown:

Home care provided through IHSS gives hundreds of thousands of Californians the ability to live with dignity and independence in their own homes.

Arbitrarily cutting consumers' hours by seven percent doesn't mean they magically need less care. It just leaves home care workers with the impossible choice of working for free or denying their clients the quality care they need and deserve.

Home care keeps people out of hospitals and nursing homes, saving the state money and keeping consumers in their own homes. This across-the-board cut puts thousands of people at risk for institutionalization.

We all care about home care. California must reverse the seven percent cut to IHSS hours.
